Ánima Village opened inside Cabo del Sol on December 5, 2025. Ten days later, Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol opened at Km 10.3 on the Carretera Transpeninsular. Both have now been open for about ten months. High season is close, and the honest picture is uneven. Ánima has filled its storefronts much faster than its tables. Most of the dining and social life announced in 2025 is still arriving. For now, Cabo del Sol has an art program, a coffee café, a listening bar and a hotel beach club, with a members' club scheduled to open in November.
That uneven picture matters if you own a home on the Cove Club side or in the hills above the Desert Course. It decides whether Ánima is a lunch stop, an evening out, or a place you visit for a specific errand.
The shops arrived first
Cabo del Sol's directory for Ánima, updated August 31, 2026, plans about 80 retail, dining and lifestyle spaces. It lists a little over 40 names as "now open." The range is wide. Zara, Zara Home, Nike, Lululemon, Sephora and Victoria's Secret cover the everyday end. Brunello Cucinelli, Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Zimmermann and TAG Heuer cover the other end. The list also includes Roche Bobois, Assouline, MacStore, Salomon, Columbia, Birkenstock, Orlebar Brown and Farm Rio. Ánima's own regulations set village hours at 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Parking is in designated spaces and reserved for village visitors.
The restaurant row is still mostly a promise
The dining side is much thinner. Previews in mid-2025 described a lineup of named restaurants, and the opening coverage in December repeated it. Hyatt's own opening release listed Casa Grande, Mastro's, Trastevere and La Lupita among Ánima's dining concepts. None of those four appears in Ánima's current gastronomy directory. We found no confirmed opening date for any of them. Treat them as possible future openings, not current options.
Ánima's gastronomy directory currently lists two places:
- Cream serves coffee, breakfast and pizza and has a rooftop. Its listing gives hours of 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Marte Hi Fi is a listening bar built around vinyl and DJs that serves drinks. It also lists 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
A third name appears on Cabo del Sol's directory. Las Venenosas by Chef Alex Banch is a Baja street-food pop-up that the page lists as open January through March. The page doesn't give a year, so watch for an announcement before you plan around it. The directory closes with "many more dining experiences coming soon."
The hours differ by about an hour. Village access ends at 8:00 p.m., but Cream and Marte list 9:00 p.m. closings. Check with each venue before planning a late drink.
The chefs from the December opening night are another reason to be cautious. The Los Cabos tourism board reported that the celebration drew more than 1,500 guests. Chefs Javier Galindo, Eliana Padilla, Yvan Mucharraz and Xavier Salomon cooked, along with Eric Arellano and Alejandro Euroza. That was an opening-night lineup. It does not mean any of them runs a permanent kitchen at Ánima.
Art has turned out to be the most active part of Ánima
What has filled the gap so far is Arte Abierto Baja, the contemporary art space built into the village. Its current show is Abraham Cruzvillegas's Flaming Self-Portrait, Looking at Two Seas at Once…, a paint-and-steel work. The two sources give different closing dates. Ánima's art page says the show runs through October 31, 2026. Arte Abierto's exhibition listing gives December 5, 2025, through December 31, 2026. If you haven't seen it, go before Halloween to be safe.
The free public program has been busier than Ánima's own events calendar. Two dates this month:
Date | Event | Format |
|---|---|---|
Friday, October 9, 6:30 p.m. | "Cardones de colores," a family chocolate-making workshop led by Karen Izumi of Ollin Cabo Cacao & Chocolate | Free, limited capacity |
Friday, October 30, 6:30 p.m. | Historian Gustavo de la Peña on the architectural heritage of northern Los Cabos, at the Showroom Soho House in Ánima Village | Free, open to all |
The chocolate workshop is tonight. The October 30 talk is the second in Arte Abierto's Derivas de arte y arquitectura Baja series. It covers old houses, churches, lighthouses and monuments in the north of the municipality, from the sugarcane boom years through trade with Pacific ports to the Revolution. The program opened in April with a free conversation between Cruzvillegas and artists from Baja California Sur.
Ánima's own agenda currently lists no upcoming events. Its past listings show the earlier pattern. Music & Sunset ran on several Sundays between May and August 2026, along with recurring yoga, Tai Chi and children's workshops. Those programs may return for winter, but nothing confirms it yet.
Where to eat this season is the Park Hyatt
With Ánima's restaurants still limited, the most complete dining option inside Cabo del Sol is at the Park Hyatt. The hotel opened with three venues: Mesa Madre, Costamar Beach Club and Dátil Coffee Shop. Executive Chef Miguel Gomez leads the culinary program.
Costamar Beach Club sits on the Sea of Cortez and serves Coastal Californian food built around seafood. Lunch runs 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, and the bar opens at 10:00 a.m. The restaurant welcomes all ages. The Costamar pool, hot tub and beach cabanas are limited to guests 15 and older. Both Costamar and Mesa Madre take reservations through OpenTable, linked from the Park Hyatt dining page.
Silán follows the same pattern as Ánima's restaurants. Hyatt's December release expected the Middle Eastern restaurant to open in spring 2026. The dining page now says the Silán menu is served nightly at Mesa Madre, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. So you can order the food, which draws on dishes from North Africa to the Levant made with Baja ingredients, but there is no separate Silán room yet.
The spa has also changed since opening. The release named it Araya and projected a first-quarter 2026 opening. The bookable spa today is called Saria Spa. The resort also lists a yoga studio, lap pool, salon and 24-hour fitness center. For the holidays, the hotel's festive page lists a tree lighting, Christmas Eve dinner at Mesa Madre and a New Year's Eve celebration. It notes that events may change and depend on availability.
Soho House is the one opening still to watch
The biggest pending opening is Soho House Los Cabos. Cabo del Sol's resort page, updated in July 2026, says it is "set to open in November 2026." Plans include 15 guest rooms, four restaurants, a wellness and fitness area, a cabaret and a beachfront pool with a bar. Soho House's own page names a Beach Club, Cecconi's Costiera, a Sunset and Cabaret Bar, and a Soho Health Club. It gives no date and says only "opening soon."
The timeline has slipped before. In January 2024, the Los Cabos tourism board expected Soho House to open in the second half of 2024. November is the current target, and the showroom at Ánima, which hosts the October 30 talk, is already in use. If it opens on schedule, Soho House would add more restaurants to Cabo del Sol at once than Ánima has added in ten months. Cecconi's Costiera and the cabaret bar would also give the area new evening options. As a members' club, though, it won't serve as a public dining room.
Other dates this winter
A few nearby events fall around the opening dates above:
- Sabor a Cabo, the food festival now in its 18th edition, is listed for Saturday, December 5, 2026. Its official site names EDEA Timeless Venue but also says the venue will be announced at a press conference, so confirm before buying tickets.
- Cabo Del Sol Winter Golf Getaway, run by the South Central PGA on the Desert Course, is listed for December 7–8. A welcome reception is planned for December 6 and an optional extra day for December 9.
- Bisbee's Black & Blue runs October 20–24 in Cabo San Lucas. Bisbee's Billfish is set for October 11–12, as reported by Gringo Gazette.
Ánima's December anniversary comes right after Sabor a Cabo. Cabo del Sol will start its second high season with dozens of shops, two food-and-drink venues in the village, a busy art program and a hotel beach club, and Soho House is scheduled to open by then.
At SunLinks Real Estate, we follow each opening at Ánima, the Park Hyatt and Soho House closely, because these places affect how a Cabo del Sol home works day to day. If you own on the Cove Club side and are wondering how these changes affect your property's daily routine, or how buyers might see them, we're glad to talk it through. Contact Us.
